All Cod, No Haddock! Fishing Report from Little Sister Charters April 10, 2022

These Past Two Days, ALL COD and NO HADDOCK! The weather on Saturday was great and John H and friends went out with haddock on their minds but had to settle for a limit of cod, a bunch of redfish and a couple of large cusk. The water temps seem on the very cold side so perhaps the haddock are still a week or two away. I did speak to another charter boat, The Elizabeth Marie out of Scituate/Captain Rob Green who told me that he has been running to Tillis Ledge for fair to good catches of haddock and has been hearing of nothing (yet) on this side of Stellwagon Bank. Fast fishing or not, it sure felt great to be on the water again!

Above we have "Slim" who was just showing off, getting a double of keeper cod and then Joe with another cod for the box. Today was a tougher trip with a lot of wind and slop. The wind never let up and the farther we went out the worse it got but we tried. We ended up with only 4 keeper cod out of over 30 caught. In addition we also had a few redfish and pollack. The best cod was actually caught the closest inshore We will keep trying "out there" and hope the haddock show up soon! There is one spot left on each of the last two "cod season days" 04/12 and 04/14, 6am-noon.
